Dear Paolo,
A book that I just discovered, which may be interesting to those of your readers who are as much beginners in bioinformatics as they are in Python is:
Bioinformatics for Dummies (no kidding!)
It doesn’t have anything about learning specific computer languages to explore sequences (rather it’s about using online tools like BioPython). And the first chapter is very helpful in understanding the physical nature of the sequences and their significance in biology.
It’s about 400 pages long and I’ve only gotten through 40, but it’s friendly, clear and useful, and I think that many people interested in your blog will be interested in this book.

Hi Joe
Thanks for the suggestion. I will also create a list of interesting bioinfo/Python books on a separate page.
Thanks
